MASTERCLASS Mastering Showing vs Telling
Sunday, June 4, 2023 - 10:00am - 11:30am @
Bayfield Town Hall, 11 The Square, Bayfield

Beginner writers often make the mistake of telling too much of the story rather than letting it dramatically unfold for the reader, letting them reach their own conclusions about what's happening on the page.

And it's the critique emerging writers hear most often: show, don't tell!

But what does that mean, exactly?

What's the difference between showing and telling, and how can you critically assess your writing to ensure that you're doing what the story most requires at that moment?

In this masterclass, learn what each means, how to tell the difference between them, and when to use which kind of narrative.
