Alice Munro Festival invites Huron County Students to Design a Book Cover

HURON COUNTY, ON - Students attending any school in Huron County are invited to showcase their creativity through a new contest launched this week by the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story.

Contestants are invited to create a book cover with the theme “Lives of Girls and Women” using digital design tools.

A local judging panel will blindly select the top three pieces of art based on interpretation of the theme, creativity and originality, quality of the design and overall impression of the art. Winners will receive cash prizes during a Festival event in Wingham on June 7, 2024. First prize is $300, with a second and third prize of $200 and $100 respectively.  Contest prizes are generously sponsored by Virtual High School.

All art must be the student’s original work and be submitted by 11:59pm on March 15, 2024 to AMFSS.DigitalArt@gmail.com.  Artwork created by AI generators are not eligible.

Artwork will be showcased in an online exhibition on the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story’s website.  It will also be shown at each venue used for 2024 Festival activities from June 5-9.
